Welcome to the official website for Denver County Court! This site is designed to give you useful and practical information about the Court and how to access its services. As Presiding Judge, I serve as the administrative officer for the Denver County Court and have the honor and privilege of leading an incredible team of dedicated judicial officers and staff. Presently, the Court consists of 19 judges, four full-time magistrates and nearly 270 staff. Many of our judicial officers are proud Denver natives and equally proud members of the most diverse group of judges in the state and in the country.

Denver County Court is both a municipal and state court and is one of the busiest courts in Colorado, processing on average 100,000 cases annually. Denver County Court presides over municipal criminal, traffic, and juvenile matters as well as state misdemeanor criminal, felony advisements, bond setting and preliminary hearings, civil matters not exceeding $25,000, small claims, protection orders, state traffic violations and review all arrest and search warrants for the 2nd judicial district.

Denver County Court administers several specialty courts and programs, including the community Outreach Court, Wellness Court, Competency Diversion and Sobriety Treatment Court. Denver County Court and its Probation Division continuously explores best practices in addressing the underlying needs of individuals in the civil and criminal justice system, and works tirelessly to remove barriers, and ensure access to services in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

The Court’s judicial officers and staff are committed to ensuring that everyone who appears before the Court receives both a fair opportunity to be heard and a timely resolution of their court case. The Court is impartial and independent, and we are committed to making sure the law is applied clearly and fairly. The Court also has a duty to protect people’s rights and freedoms and makes decisions based on the rule of law. Given our focus on breaking down barriers to accessing justice for the many people who lack the tools, services, and information they need to resolve their legal disputes, we offer many online services such as our Self-Help Center, where court representatives offer in person and virtual assistance, and other online court business where you can lookup case information, pay a fine, obtain a protection order, post bond online, and so much more. We also livestream our criminal courtroom proceedings. These services and offerings are designed to make accessing justice easier for everyone.

We hope you find the information on our website helpful. We are committed to continuous improvement. Should you have any suggestions or feedback regarding this site, please contact us.
